EnterSpace Security Suite™
Advanced Possibilities
Examples of new products and services enabled
by the EnterSpace Security Suite (ESS):
Distributed Rules Management Enables
Customer Self-Care
In cases where it makes business sense, the
ability to administer access control rules for customer-specific
features and data can be securely placed within the hands
of your customers themselves. Our browser-based rules management
GUI can be supplemented with wizards and templates for easy-to-use
security rules administration. Thus, we enable you to externalize
the rules administration function to customers, employees,
partners and vendors in appropriate circumstances.
Self-Care Security Examples:
- Document management needs can be addressed
at a level that was never before feasible. Documents can
be segmented at a very fine level of granularity, and
the right to view, revise, or even create new content
can be managed. Auditability is provided for the entire
process, and the distributed administration capability
allows the management of the access rules to be controlled
by the document owners themselves.
- A Fortune 1000 manufacturing organization
could create a portal for customized orders. Numerous
employees from the ordering firm would be able to place
orders, but business and security rules would be applied
to each transaction, enabling control of the options,
services, and expenditures associated with the order.
The controls could be jointly set by both customer and
manufacturer, thus improving customer service while minimizing
ambiguity and costly mistakes.
Ability of Fine-Grained, Contextual
Entitlement and Privilege Management Allows Unique Self-Care
Solutions - Companies continually grapple with
the tension between security and access. Nowhere is this
more true than in the area of self-care, especially when
your end-user is a customer. Self-care solutions have traditionally
limited customers to a very narrow range of possibilities
because the risk of more liberal access was too high. The
ESS lowers the bar for secure self-care solutions. Fine-grained
authorization enables a "next-generation" leap
in self-care solutions for customers, employees, partners
and vendors.
Imagine some of the possibilities:
- A wireless company could offer a wireless
plan aimed at parents who buy phones for their children.
Parents could limit the phone to only dialing certain
numbers, at certain times, etc. The rules for this new
feature could be implemented and managed over the web
-- directly by the parents -- without the need of a customer
service representative.
- A credit card company could allow a father
to acquire a credit card for his daughter that only allows
specified purchases. She could buy groceries and school
supplies but not concert tickets or alcohol. The rules
that control purchase approval would be updated over the
web, directly by the cardholder.
